The Keauhou Farmers Market offers a wide variety of high quality, locally grown produce and value added products. Delicious foods to take home and enjoy later are also available. Market specials and competitive pricing transform weekly grocery shopping into a Saturday adventure at this Big Island farmers market.
Conveniently located in the parking lot of the Keauhou Shopping Center, you can pull up and park right next to the market. In other words, you won’t be lugging your heavy bag very far back to the car. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is currently no live music or eating on premises. But, what it lacks in entertainment it makes up for with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
This market features 22 vendors focused solely on beautiful, fresh food grown exclusively on Hawaii island. The many micro-climates and elevation levels throughout the Big Island give it a big advantage when growing a diversity of fruits and vegetables.
As you walk through this market there is a distinctly local array of beautiful produce and delicious value added products unique to the Kona District. Among the vendor booths you’ll find local fruits and veggies such as; strawberries, mushrooms, and citrus of every kind, jumbo papaya, beets, greens and more. And, of course there’s Kona coffee! There are beautiful farm fresh eggs, baked goods, macadamia nuts, mamaki tea, homemade granola, local honey and even baklava. At this market you can stock your produce for the coming week along with some choice treats. You can pick up a bouquet of sunflowers along with jams and jellies to brighten your day. Yo Bagels! sells New York style small-batch bagels by the dozen or as made-to-order sandwiches. Try the Adam’s Apple, a bagel filled with crispy bacon, red onion, avocado, Fuji apple, and your choice of plain or mixed vegetable cream cheese spread.
At the beginning of the pandemic this Big Island farmers market was one of the first to respond by offering an online ordering and pick up system. When you visit the website, 24 vendors greet you with a wide array of Hawai’i’s finest. Everything under the sun can be added to your cart without leaving the comfort of your home. Pick up your groceries on market day between 9:30 and 11 am in a convenient drive-thru format. During a recent visit there were over 100 orders waiting to be picked up by happy customers. Organized efforts of the distribution crew kept the line of cars moving swiftly adding to the convenience of this modern market.
To make it even more accessible to all Big Island residents SNAP/EBT is accepted. Look for the information tent to exchange your SNAP/EBT for market tokens that can be used like cash with any of the produce vendors.
