About HFMA

The Hawaii Farmers Market Association (HFMA) was established in 2020 to strengthen and promote a vibrant and sustainable local food system and economy by supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer farm marketing statewide. We do this through:

  • Marketing Hawaii farmers markets and producers with an online directory and promotional campaigns
  • Providing technical assistance, educational resources, and networking opportunities
  • Working to increase market sales and access through expansion of farmers market nutrition programs
  • Creating a collective platform for data collection and reporting, advocacy, and community voice

The Hawaii Farmers Market Association was launched with support from USDA’s Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP), as a project of the Hawaii Good Food Alliance, fiscally sponsored by Sustainable Molokai and supported by our many members across the state.

The Hawaii Good Food Alliance is a diverse hui of people who share in the production, aggregation and distribution of food to re-build thriving community food systems. We join together—with a sense of urgency—to raise community voice and support one another in the belief that each and every person in Hawai‘i can share in healthy, locally produced food.
